Slack is getting a makeover, and this is what it looks like

In March 2020, when the health context was impacted by the advent of the coronavirus, Slack welcomed the biggest update in its history. At a time when teleworking was enjoying a significant increase in popularity, the famous courier took the opportunity to sport a whole new look. The navigation bar and sidebar have also been redesigned to make the Slack experience more enjoyable and customizable. Almost three and a half years later, and for the first time since the start of the pandemic, the courier service is about to undergo another facelift.

In an effort to standardize the cross-platform experience, this update to Slack is coming to both desktop and mobile. The deployment of this new interface has already begun; discover without delay what it looks like and what it has in store for you.

What’s new in this update?

If the new interface does not offer major upheavals, you will nevertheless note that the left column has undergone some readjustments. As you can see in the screenshot below, the section will now house your “Home”, “DM” and “Activity” tabs. If you have marked messages that you want to read later, you can also find them in the “Later” tab. At the bottom of this same column, you will notice the presence of a search button as well as a button to create new messages.

From now on, when you hover your mouse cursor over the notifications (Activity tab), you will be able to see an overview of what is happening in order to determine whether you want to reply to the messages that await you now or fix them later. . Finally, know that to switch in no time from one workspace to another, you just have to click on the button located just above the Home tab.

The most attentive among you will have certainly noticed the difference in colors between the columns (light purple and dark purple). In this way, Slack wants to help you better distinguish the elements displayed on the screen. This update also comes with new color choices for your themes.
