Slay the Spire: the board game gives new life

First announced in January 2021, the board game using the Slay the Spire license was set to launch its Kickstarter the following spring. But since you haven’t played it and it’s impossible to find it, it’s clear that a small pitfall has slipped into this potentially well-oiled mechanism. Rather silent since then, the project seems to have been waking up for a few weeks.

In particular through from the Contention Games Twitter account, the company responsible for designing the game, which has split several posts highlighting the four main characters of the original title, but also the progression tree leading to each boss. Published regularly since mid-September, these tweets suggest a desire by Contention Games to finally resume the path of communication and that of the launch of the Kickstarter collection.

Likewise, it is possible to see on the company’s official Discord server some images of the Slay the Spire box and recent game elements, which also goes in the direction of speeding up the process. Note that if doubts may arise in the ability of Contention Games to carry out the project after these long silences, their previous board game – also card-based – Imperium: The Contention, had raised $ 26,803 out of 10 000 requested and received a very good critical reception.
