sleek design and 360 degree connected monitoring

After a first outdoor connected security camera, Philips invites itself into our interiors with the Philips Welcome Eye Look. A motorized camera for 360 degree surveillance with motion detection and tracking functions, as well as a powerful alarm.

Philips has only been in the connected surveillance camera market since the end of last year. Licensed products designed and designed in France by the French company Avidsen, which already offers a wide range of video door entry systems under the Philips brand.

After an outdoor model, the Welcome Eye View, here comes its little sister, the Philips Welcome Eye Look. A product that is designed to protect your interior from intrusions, while respecting the privacy of each member of the household.

Philips Welcome Eye: a complete, motorized and pretty camera

This camera displays an attractive design, which starts from a very classic base in form (a short tube overhung by a dome), but here very delicately drawn.

It is made of shiny white plastic, combined with a strip of fabric and an aluminum-coloured base. It is simply placed on a flat surface and can even be installed on the ceiling thanks to the mounting kit supplied with it.

A beautiful product that offers a “2K” motorized camera with an 85° field of view. The latter, combined with a horizontal 355° and vertical 120° motorization, allows monitoring without blind spots. Then, the presence of infrared LEDs ensures on paper effective night vision up to 10 meters. The product offers intelligent motion detection that allows it to distinguish human silhouettes and differentiate them from those of animals. If a presence is detected, the camera launches its auto-tracking function to isolate it and follow it in motion.

On the privacy side, the Welcome Eye Look also claims to have thought of everything. This product has a private mode that can be activated from the smartphone, or from a button on the back of the camera. The microphone and the loudspeaker are then deactivated while the camera is covered with a physical cover.

Storage is done locally on an 8 GB SD card which, for once, comes with the camera. This is rare enough to be emphasized and appreciated. Note that this product is compatible with Google or Alexa voice assistants. Finally, this product is intended to be as eco-responsible as possible with a design that includes 70% 70% recycled plastic and 100% recycled and recyclable packaging.

The Philips Welcome Eye Look camera is available now at the recommended retail price of 129.90 euros.
