Sleep with a cigarette – the dog “Phoenix” suffocated in the fire in the apartment

The gentleman has burns, the dog “Phoenix” is dead. In Schneegattern in Upper Austria, a fire caused by a cigarette almost claimed a human life. All in all, the Floriani disciples were called to four larger operations within a few hours. In Altheim there were three injured, in Maria Neustift the wind helped to extinguish the fire.

The first fire in the series broke out in a large bakery in Altheim when three workers were welding on a cooling coil machine. All shift workers fled, but three were injured, and one Romanian (41) even had to go to the hospital. Nine fire brigades had to struggle primarily with the dense smoke in the production hall. Unconscious in the living room Just two hours later, the sirens wailed in snow gates: A neighbor (31) had noticed smoke in a three-storey multi-party building and sounded the alarm. Firefighters forced open the door to the apartment, which was emitting smoke. An unconscious Salzburger (40), who already had burns, lay on the sofa in the living room. In the bedroom, the owner of the apartment (35) hadn’t even noticed the danger and had to be woken up. There was no more help for the dog “Phoenix”, which belonged to the 40-year-old from Salzburg – the animal had suffocated. The cause of the fire was a cigarette that the man from Salzburg had dropped while falling asleep. Farmhouse fire A farmhouse fire in Maria Neustift, where 17 fire brigades extinguished the fire, was relatively mild. Because the wind shifted, it blew the flames that were shooting out of the Stadl away from the house. All animals were saved. And in Hirschbach a garden shed burned down.
