For several days now, Slimane has been sharing, through his social networks, an artistic project that is particularly close to his heart: the recording of his latest clip for the song Résister. On June 7, the singer created a general surprise by appearing dressed all in white on the square in front of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral.

The reason ? Filming the video for his latest single, which Slimane imagined as a true hymn to peace, in this period marked by an uncertain geopolitical context where several conflicts are continuing in Europe and the Middle East in particular. So obviously, the one that fans know for his multiple hats, sometimes vocal coach for the show The Voicesometimes representing France during Eurovision, wanted to put his notoriety at the service of a noble cause: peace.

Proof of his commitment and his desire to see the wars that tear countries apart stop, Sliman did not just name his latest single Resistsince he adds the question “What about peace?”, literally “What about peace?”as we can see on the channel Youtube of the singer, where the clip was published, this Friday June 14, 2024, at 4 p.m.

A message conveyed by the lyrics and which we also find within the clip, since the interpreter of this hymn to peace is accompanied by a white panel on which we can see written in large capital letters “What about peace?”. No frills, extravagance or even special effects for this video production. Indeed, Slimane seems to have chosen to go straight to the point for his clip in which the artist appears dressed in white on the square in front of the emblematic cathedral.

As for accessories, the interpreter of Thousands of I love you once again contented himself with the minimum, since he sings in front of a microphone installed on a tripod to deliver his message of appeasement to the crowd which we can see gathering little by little around the artist while he sings his song. And as the crowd takes its place around Slimane, some begin to accompany the singer during the chorus, for which the lyrics are sung in English. It is also interesting to note that all of the lyrics of the song are translated into the language of Shakespeare, which could mark the singer’s desire to see his message go beyond the borders of France.

Finally, the approach associated with this title is reminiscent of that of Michael Jackson, 14 years ago, with his emblematic title Earth Song or with the title They don’t care about us. If the notoriety of the two singers is obviously not comparable, their will is just as honorable. In any case, Slimane’s song already seems to attract many fans of the artist since at the time of writing these few lines, the clip has more than 4,000 views and no less than 1,100 likes.
