Small pension increases, LEP ceiling, APL… What changes for your budget in October

In October, the LEP ceiling increases, as does the amount of APL or certain small pensions. For its part, the price of gas could rise while the balance of the property tax will have to be paid. MoneyVox lists everything that’s changing for your budget this month.

The LEP ceiling increases from 7,700 to 10,000 euros

This is MoneyVox information: from October 1, the ceiling of the Popular Savings Book (LEP), allocated under means conditions, will increase from 7,700 euros to 10,000 euros. You have to pay the land tax!

It is a local tax which increases (sometimes a lot, like Paris) almost everywhere in France, in 2023. Only 82 municipalities, according to the count carried out by MoneyVox, have chosen to reduce the amount of land tax this autumn. At any rate, the balance is paid no later than October 16 for taxpayers making paper declarations and October 21 for those with online declarations.

THE tax collection should be carried out on October 26, 2023i.e. the same day as that of income tax for households who owed more than 300 euros in September.

A helping hand for small pensions

The pension reform came into effect on September 1, but in October certain small pensions will see their amount increase by a maximum of 100 euros.

1.7 million small pensions are affected by an increase in the minimum contributory amount, which is a guaranteed minimum retirement if you have contributed 120 quarters. For 600,000 people, the revaluation will take place on October 9 on the amount of the basic pension for the month of September. More than a million other withdrawals will be increased during 2024.

As for future withdrawals, no problem, the updating of the amounts will be automatic, assures the government.

APL revalued by 3.5%

Good news, APLs will be revalued on October 1st. A boost which should reach 3.5%, based on the rent reference index (IRL) but at the level, or even above inflation, as demanded by the Abb Pierre Foundation, for example . The question today is not that of the PLA. We are instead looking to enhance the housing supply, explained the Minister of Housing, Patrice Vergriete, on France Info.

Since the summer of 2022, all social benefits have been increased by 5.1%, in two stages: 3.5% in July 2022 and 1.6% on April 1, 2023.

The deconjugalization of the disabled allowance is finally in force

Finally! The associations have been calling for the implementation of this measure for many months. In a few days, the allowance for adults with disabilities (AAH) will be calculated without taking into account the spouse’s income. For people already receiving assistance, the change in calculation method will only be made if it benefits them and will be definitive.

120,000 disabled people in couples should see their AAH increase by 350 euros per month on average. Created in 1975, the AAH is intended to compensate for the inability to work. For a maximum amount of 956.65 euros monthlyit is paid based on medical and social criteria.

The disabled adult allowance paid by the CAF increases by almost 15 euros
