The creators of the series “Smallville” have revealed that one of the fan theories from the first hour of the series is indeed real!
Do you remember Chloe, heroine of the Smallville series? For several seasons, viewers and fans of Superman thought she was going to become Lois Lane thanks to a cleverly twisted twist, but that was not the case. However, this theory was indeed considered by the supervisors of the series!
What happened to the stars of Smallville?
Asked by the site Kryptonsite, series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar returned to the so-called “Chlois” theory, namely that the heroine Chloe was to become Lois Lane during a revelation during the series. Millar revealed:
We actually talked about it, [Chloe] was the proto-Laws and [on imaginait qu’elle] must have changed her identity or something, and then became Lois Lane.
“We discussed it when we were developing the series in the mid-2000s”added Al Gough, co-creator of the series.

Chloe Sullivan is the only character, besides Clark, to be present in the entire series, and she was created specifically for Smallville. She’s Kent’s friend and the editor of the school newspaper, The torch. She will eventually be developed as Lois Lane’s cousin.
The character is played by Allison Mack, who has since been sentenced by the courts to three years in prison. It was released on July 5, 2023.
A very late Lois Lane
The character of Lois actually arrived in season 4 (2004-2005), for a limited narrative arc (the first 4 episodes of the season), in the guise of Erica Durance. The idea for the show was then to find out if the actress would be well received by the fans.
The latter approved this choice, leading to the return of Lois Lane from episode 8, and until the end of the season. Durance was promoted to regular from season 5, until the 10th and final season, broadcast in 2010-2011.

But why did Lois Lane take 4 seasons to appear in a Superman series?
“The problem was that we wanted Lois Lane and they didn’t want to give her to us.”Gough recalled in the podcast TalkVille. “And when it came into season 4, there was this thing of ‘you can have it for two episodes’ and then ‘you can have it for three’ and then ‘you can have it for half of season’, and Peter Roth [président de l’époque de Warner Bros Television] said: ‘And sh*t. Now that she’s on the show, she’s never leaving.”
