Smart Chain goes through hard fork

The hard fork named “Moran” has been completed on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). That comes from one contribution on GitHub, where the fork was scheduled for around 10:00 a.m. German time. The fork in the network aims to fix last week’s million-dollar exploit. The smart chain was temporarily halted due to a bridge hack on Friday.

The adjustment of the test and mainnet is an “urgent patch to mitigate the cross-chain infrastructure between the beacon chain and the smart chain,” says GitHub. Node operators were encouraged to stop their hardware and replace the old binary with the customized version.

Meanwhile, there will be no AirDrop or a new cryptocurrency. “The BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network upgrade and hard fork will not result in new tokens being created,” Binance previously stated in a announcement.
