Smart kettle from Lidl: discounter expands smart home range

If you want to make your own home smart, you sometimes have to spend a lot of money. For some time now, however, discounters have also been offering intelligent devices at relatively low prices. Lidl already has a decent range in its online shop and is now expanding it with additional smart home products for the kitchen. There is now a smart coffee machine, hot air fryer, kitchen scales and a smart kettle.

The latter is integrated into the home network via WLAN and can be controlled using the Lidl Home app. The device takes about 2:38 minutes to boil one liter of water, the capacity is 1.7 liters.

Additional functions are also possible in conjunction with the Lidl app. The water temperature is not only displayed within this, it can also be set to the exact degree between 40 and 100 degrees. There are also 16 preset programs, including tea and coffee, and a keep-warm function.

The smart kettle from the Silvercrest brand is sold exclusively by Lidl for just under 50 euros. A fair price for the device, because comparable products often cost between 55 and 100 euros.
