Smartphones: the best-selling models at the start of 2024 are… iPhones


The smartphone market is constantly evolving, bringing its share of new products every month. Two brands are mainly doing well here: Apple and Samsung.

Counterpoint Research has also shown the dominance of the two brands via a recent report, pointing out that the 10 best-selling models during the first quarter of 2024 were iPhone and Galaxy.

At the top of the list, we find four phones from the Apple firm: the iPhone 15 Pro Max, representing 4.4% of sales, followed by the iPhone 15 (4.3%), the iPhone 15 Pro ( 3.7%) and the iPhone 14 (1.9%). The research firm specifies that “Pro iPhones have become Apple’s main revenue drivers, contributing more than 60% of its sales value in the first quarter of 2024. The Pro line offers substantial upgrades and significant improvements over the base models . This strategic move has proven successful as consumers are willing to pay for premium features.

Just behind, we find Samsung with its latest premium model: the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Two more affordable smartphones from the South Korean firm are then in the game: the recent Galaxy A15 5G and the Galaxy A54.

The end of the ranking of the best-selling models during the 1st quarter of 2024 consists of the iPhone 15 Plus, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy A34.

In conclusion, Apple is still doing just as well in the sale of its latest generation of smartphones, the iPhone 15, just like Samsung with its basic and premium versions of the Galaxy S24 range. As a bonus, the Korean company has the advantage of widely attracting consumers with its less expensive devices from the Galaxy A range.
