Smeg enters the Mix&Go blender sector with the PBF01

Who does not know Smeg? Rarely has a brand of household appliance marked its time so much because of the assertive design of its products. A true pioneer, the Italian has brought the 1950s back into fashion in our kitchens. We are of course familiar with the range of FAB refrigerators (FAB28, FAB30, FAB32…) with round corners, pastel colors and touches of chrome. Given its success, the concept has been applied to many other products from the manufacturer, from toasters to food processors, kettles and juice extractors.

This large gathering is enriched with a blender, the PBF01. But unlike the BLF01 with its relatively classic architecture and a relatively bulky glass bowl with handle (1.5 litres), the PBF01 is a so-called Mix&Go model. The container is actually a gourd, on which a lid replaces the block of blades after mixing. So you can take your smoothie with you as soon as the preparation is finished, without having to transfer the drink into another utensil.

In general, this type of blender is satisfied with a single and unique speed of rotation of the blades. The PBF01 offers two to exploit the total power of 300 watts, and you switch from one to the other using a knob; pressing the button in the center of the latter starts or stops the mixing. The knife has four blades, whereas there are only two on many other Mix&Go blenders. Good point, Smeg provides two water bottles and two lids. In order not to weigh down the bag of the nomadic smoothie lover, these are not made of glass, but of plastic and their volume does not exceed 0.6 liters.

The Mix&Go Smeg PBF01 blender is already available, at a fairly high price for this type of product of €130. As often with Smeg, many colors are available: cream, water green, pink, white, black, azure blue and red.
