Smoke inhalation – fire brigade saves man’s life in Kindberg

A smoke detector on Wednesday prevented the death of a man who fell asleep while cooking.

On Wednesday morning, the smoke detector sounded the alarm and prompted the Kindberg fire brigade to move out. Dense smoke was already coming from an apartment on the premises of the “cowerk” when the emergency services arrived. Fell asleep while cooking After breaking open the locked apartment door, the Florianis found an unconscious man in one of the rooms and were able to rescue him from the completely smoke-filled apartment. During the first aid, the Red Cross found smoke poisoning, which is why the man was taken to a hospital. As it turned out after the smoke was cleared, the man must have been warming his food on a stove. He fell asleep in the next room while the food burned completely. Another fire in Lassing In the late afternoon, another major fire brigade operation broke out in Lassing: a stable building caught fire in the Döllach area and employed ten fire brigades to extinguish the fire. The cows and calves housed in the barn were all brought to safety.
