Are Smudo and his Luca app a game changer in the corona pandemic? At Maybrit Illner, the rapper once again explained the application.

Can Smudo (53) play a decisive role in combating the corona pandemic with the help of his app Luca? Yes, say many experts. Yes, also says the rapper who is involved in the tracing app. The musician of the Fantastischen Vier (“Die there!?!”) Confirmed his opinion once more on the ZDF talk show hosted by Maybrit Illner (56). He is pleased with the “overwhelming response” and the willingness of the federal government to cooperate, he has been in close contact with the Ministry of Health since January.

“We have already connected 100 health authorities that work directly with Luca. Over 40,000 companies that have already registered and 2.3 million downloads,” says Smudo, proudly explaining the success. However, he also agrees with the warnings during the crisis: “We are in a dangerous situation and Luca is not going to clear the virus.” The app can help to increase the speed of the detection of infectious people – this is the speed that is important “in the race against the virus”.
