Snapchat Plus: This is how you take out the paid subscription and this is what it brings you

It is not entirely new that social media platforms offer their users subscription models with which they can gain additional functions. This approach has long been known from dating apps, but X (formerly Twitter) and Telegram have also recently introduced such offers. Snapchat also offers a paid subscription for its fans under the name Snapchat Plus.

This brings you Snapchat Plus

The Plus subscription is Snapchat’s answer to offers like Telegram Premium (which unfortunately is not officially available in Germany), X Premium (formerly Twitter Blue) and Co. For a monthly price of 4.49 euros or an annual price of 33.99 Euro, which increases by 11 euros to 44.99 euros after the first year, you can subscribe to the service.

The following additional features are then available:

• Custom App Icon: Snapchat Plus users can choose from tons of custom app icons to display on the home screen.
• Chat wallpaper: With this function you can set a custom background for your chat on Snapchat Plus. Each chat can have a different background, which will also be displayed to your friends.
• Custom app themes: This allows you to give your app a new coat of paint and customize its look.
• Best Friend #1: If you have a best best friend – a super best friend – you can pin the chat with that person to the top thanks to Snapchat Plus.
• See replays: This allows you to see how many of your friends have viewed your story repeatedly. However, it is not visible which friends these were.
• Post eye emoji: You can choose an emoji to show to your friends once they view your snap.
• Bitmoji backgrounds: With this function you can choose and display an exclusive background for your Bitmoji.
• Snapchat Plus Badge: With a special star badge, everyone will immediately know that you have subscribed to Snapchat Plus.
• Solar System: This feature is somewhat vaguely defined, but Snapchat describes that you can use it to check whether you are in the orbit of your best friends. This symbolizes your positions in that person’s list of best friends.
• Custom notification sounds: Is the well-known Snapchat prring annoying you? Thanks to Snapchat Plus you can change your notification sound.
• Priority Story Replies: Replies to a Snap Star’s Priority Story will be given priority to that person.
• Story Boost: With Snapchat Plus you get more story views – how exactly this works is not explained.
• Create a biography for My AI: With this function you can give your My AI its own personality with a biography.
• Map appearance: If you have subscribed to Snapchat Plus, Snapchat lets you customize the appearance of your SnapMap to suit your preferences.
• Repeat again: You can repeat snaps again with this function – a total of three times.
• Restore Flames: Have you ever forgotten to send a Snap and lost your Flames? If you have subscribed to Snapchat Plus, you no longer have to pay 99 cents for each time your flames are restored.
• Expanded Best Friends List: Snapchat lets you expand your best friends list up to 16 people when you pay for a Snapchat Plus subscription.

That’s a long list of additional features, some of which could be really useful. Snapchat is also constantly expanding the list, so you can look forward to a new Plus feature every few months.

How to subscribe to Snapchat Plus

You can subscribe to Snapchat Plus as an in-app purchase via Google Play or the Apple App Store. To do this, go to your Snapchat app and tap your profile picture. Now open the settings by tapping the corresponding icon in the top right. Now tap on the “Snapchat+” menu item and follow the instructions to subscribe to the service. You can pay at Google and Apple with your credit card or PayPal, among other things.
