Discreet this year on the smartphone market, since the brand has not (yet) formalized its Zenfone 9 series, Asus intends to return to it through the door of the gaming. The Taiwanese announces today (May 23, 2022) that its next flagship will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm, presented last week. The North American firm having indicated that the SoC will be available in the first smartphones in the third quarter, that is to say from July, the announcement is not a surprise. However, it is one of the first in a series that we imagine to be very long.
The identity of the selected device is not surprising either, because it is the ROG Phone 6, successor to an ROG Phone 5 launched in the summer of 2021. Like its elder, this smartphone will be turned towards mobile video games and therefore to take advantage of the dedicated functions of its chipset, stamped Snapdragon Elite Gaming. Of the characteristics of the device, however, nothing more is known.
And from the same firmware, a sketch of the ROG Phone 6. I am really curious to see how the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 performs on this phone, cause it’s not looking good on the Moto Edge X30 or Xiaomi 12 ? pic.twitter.com/RhOElpL6OV

We have to be content for the time being with the sketch unearthed (see the tweet above) in the firmware of the Zenfone 8 under Android 12. Remember all the same that the ROG Phone 5 housed an Amoled screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, 8 to 16 GB of RAM, a 6000 mAh battery, and was flanked by a range of accessories intended to enrich the gaming experience: the ROG Phone 6 will therefore undoubtedly improve this technical base.
