SNCF strike: traffic will be “disturbed” on Wednesday on the TER, TGV and Ouigo lines

TGV, TER, Ile-de-France… Le Figaro provides an update on the traffic difficulties expected by the rail group on July 6.

Bad news for holidaymakers: TER traffic should be severely disrupted on Wednesday July 6 by a strike, SNCF Voyageurs said on Monday. The main lines are concerned, as well as the local lines. The four representative unions of the SNCF have called for a strike to influence wage negotiations. For its part, the group is expecting a record summer, with demand being particularly strong.

Faced with major expected disruptions, the rail group recommends that travelers “to cancel or postpone their trips» scheduled for that day if they can. People whose trains are canceled will be notified on Monday, “in order to be placed on another train as much as possible or to be reimbursed free of charge“says the company. Le Figaro takes stock of the expected disruptions.

A quarter of TGVs removed

On the national network, around a quarter of TGVs should be canceled on the eve of the summer holidays. Only three out of five TGVs and Inoui trains should run on the East axis, and three out of four trains on the North and Atlantic axes. Four out of five trains must run on the South-East axis. On the Ouigo side, only two out of three trains should run. The SNCF indicates that consequences are possible from Tuesday July 5 at the end of the day and until Thursday July 7 morning.

Ile-de-France: the RER and the Transilien disrupted

In Île-de-France, traffic should be severely disrupted on Wednesday July 6. On the RER side, line A will not be disrupted. Conversely, one in two trains will run on lines B, C, D and E of the network. On the Transilien side, only one in two trains will run on lines J, L, N, R, U and one in three out of three trains on lines H and P. Transilien K should run normally. Disruptions are also to be expected on the Ile-de-France tram network: a tram will run on line T4 every fifteen minutes, specifies the company.

Regions: disruptions everywhere

TER traffic will be disrupted “In every region“. Two out of five TER trains will run on average.

Similarly, Intercités trains will not be spared: only one out of three daytime Intercités will run. The SNCF thus plans one in two trains on the Paris-Limoges-Toulouse and Paris-Clermont axes, and one in three on the Bordeaux-Marseille axis. There will be no train on the Nantes-Bordeaux, Nantes-Lyon, Toulouse Hendaye and Clermont-Béziers lines. In addition, night Intercités will not run, with the exception of Paris-Nice.

International: traffic “normal” expected

On the other hand, trains bound for foreign countries should not be disrupted: the service will be normal on the Eurostat, Thalys and “almost normal» for the Lyria and services between France and Italy or Germany. However, there will be no train to Spain.
