SNCF: this collective of controllers which threatens the TGVs at Christmas

DECRYPTION – Despite the concessions of the management of the SNCF, this recent informal movement calls for a strike and disrupts the circulation of trains at the end of the year.

“Most of our colleagues have already filed their DII, the document that signifies their intention to strike”, says Nicolas, one of the co-founders of the national collective ASCT. The latter, who brings together on his Facebook page “agents of the commercial train service” angry, is behind the mobilization which is seriously disrupting the circulation of SNCF trains at the end of the year. This newcomer, far from the traditional trade union organizations, was also behind the spearhead of the strike from December 2 to 5, when 60% of the TGVs were canceled.

A first at the SNCF, where the unions, very well established, have always led large-scale social movements. A not trivial story also of an informal movement from the base which recalls the phenomenon “yellow vests“. “Everything was born out of a discussion group on WhatsApp that we created in the spring in Marseille to exchange between fellow controllers on our professional feelings”says Olivier, another co-founder…
