“Sneak!” – Handlebar pulls climate adhesive from the road – condemned

When activists started their protest on Vienna’s beltway, a stressed driver lost his nerve in January. In his trial he tries to convey his point of view to the members of the last generation who have been called as witnesses. The 40-year-old transport entrepreneur bites on granite. And is sentenced for his freak out.

The fronts are hardened. Even if the accused tries hard in the courtroom to approach his victim: “It went badly. I was stressed. I get that with the climate and stuff. But is that any use? Block people driving to work? I’ll say an apology in that sense,” Mr B. (40) addressed the activist called as a witness – whom he wanted to rudely throw off the road on the Vienna Belt at the Westbahnhof before he could stick himself. The climate sticker appreciates the driver no glance. “That creates even more traffic jams and even more exhaust fumes,” the family man insists. Activist: “He yelled and pulled me away” “How was that on January 11?” Mr. Rat wants to know from the member of the last generation, who was unharmed. “We held our meeting on the street. Then he came up to us, yelled and pulled me away by the hood. He pushed my colleague, kicked me twice in the hip.” Video of the freak out as an internet hit The clip of the freak out, for which Mr B. now has to answer, was viewed 700,000 times on Twitter. The transport operator, who was on his way to a promising appointment, jumped out of the car and attacked one of the protesters: “I told him to sneak out. But he always came back to the streets. I shouldn’t have.”Judge: “You are not the police”The judge and the legislature also see it that way. He sentenced the anger driver to three months in prison for coercion and disruption of a meeting: “Only the police can carry away, and you are not the police.”
