Snow and ice: two departments on orange alert


The Nord and Pas-de-Calais were placed in orange vigilance on Thursday March 31. Snow and ice are expected in these departments.

Winter is well and truly back. Météo France announced on Thursday that it was putting the Nord and Pas-de-Calais on level 3 alert.

This orange vigilance could be extended during the day towards the Somme, said the weather forecasting organization. The disturbance, driven by a strong northerly wind, will be followed overnight from Thursday to Friday by more regular snowfall.

This snowfall will evacuate the south of the region early Friday afternoon.
