The World Cup races in Zermatt/Cervinia are still under a bad star: Due to heavy snowfall at night and the current wind situation, the jury and the organizers decided to postpone the men’s downhill race planned for Saturday in the interest of the safety of everyone involved to cancel.

No racing on Monday

It initially remained unclear whether the race would be rescheduled. FIS race director Markus Waldner announced that there will definitely be no race on Monday, the “reserve day” planned as a precautionary measure. For that to happen, the forecasts would have had to have been very good. A departure is also scheduled for Sunday. Even then, difficult weather conditions are expected.

Training had to be canceled on Thursday and Friday due to the weather. And at the originally planned premiere in 2022, a lack of snow led to the cancellation of all races.
