Snow pole murder – 19-year-old should go to an institution after conviction

After the murder of a 19-year-old schoolgirl in a wooded area on Sternstein near Bad Leonfelden, the indictment is now complete. The boy is said to have killed the woman from the Mühlviertel with two snow sticks. In addition to murder, he is also charged with attempted burglary. A psychological report attests him a high level of danger.

It was supposedly frustration over his losing streak in a South Bohemian casino. Coupled with the anger that his companion Stefanie R. (19) did not want to provide him with any money to return to the casino. Samuel Z. – he was 18 years old in February – is then said to be in a forest on Sternstein near Bad Leonfelden (both had chosen this place for a nocturnal shepherd’s hour) completely freaked out. As if out of his mind, the boy is said to have beaten the Mühlviertler HTL student with two snow poles and smashed her face. The young woman, who had previously tried to flee by car, but had crashed into a snow bank, had no chance. According to the report “dangerous” According to the autopsy, Stefanie R. died of massive internal and external bleeding. “She also inhaled blood,” says Ulrike Breiteneder, spokeswoman for the Linz public prosecutor’s office. Z. is said to have explained to the psychiatric expert Adelheid Kastner that once he had started the life-threatening beatings, he wanted to finish them in such a way that R. could no longer testify against him later. “The day before he was in a farm shop burgled and filmed. The police are already investigating him,” explains Breiteneder. The charge is therefore not only murder but also attempted burglary. Psychiatrist Kastner attests Z. a narcissistic personality disorder. The danger that emanates from him is apparently so considerable that the public prosecutor’s office will request that the 19-year-old (he had meanwhile birthday) in the event of a conviction in a special forensic institution (e.g. in Garsten) in the closed prison. According to juvenile criminal law, Samuel Z. faces between 10 and 20 years in prison (there is no life sentence), the verdict is made by a juvenile criminal court. He now has 14 days to appeal the charges. The trial will probably take place in the summer.
