20,000 Carinthians have been sitting in the dark since Wednesday night. “Fitters are working at full speed,” announces Josef Stocker from Kärnten Netz. “The causes are fallen trees, snow and ice rolls on lines, and occasional cable faults.” Main areas affected: Districts Villach Land, Hermagor, Feldkirchen and Klagenfurt-Land. “In the west and in the Mölltal the power supply is upright, also east of Klagenfurt and St. Veit, apart from a few disturbances in the vicinity of Eisenkappel,” he adds.
