Snowpiercer: shelved for a year, season 4 of the series will finally be broadcast

Here’s some news that fans of the series Snowpiercer were not waiting any longer! The series, canceled by the American channel TNT in 2022, had seen its season 4, already filmed, put on the shelf… until today, since it has just found a new broadcaster. Passengers on the Transperceneige will therefore finally be able to get off the train.

You can’t stop a moving train

Adapted from the French comic strip The Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette (1982), this postapocalyptic series will finally come to a proper conclusion.

The site Deadline reports that season 4 will be broadcast in the United States on AMC and its streaming platform AMC+. The American cable channel has in fact acquired the series produced by Tomorrow Studios and will offer the first three seasons of Snowpiercer on AMC+ at the end of the year, before broadcasting season 4 in early 2025.

“Snowpiercer is a thrill-ride with a loyal fan base — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve with our biggest series franchises — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+.”commented Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios.

“We’re thrilled that The Train has finally found a home, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at AMC and Tomorrow Studios for giving fans Snowpiercer a chance to experience the fourth season and all the hard work these incredible cast and crew have put into it,” said Paul Zbyszewski, showrunner of the series.

In France, Snowpiercer has been broadcast since 2020 on Netflix. We do not yet know if season 4 will also be offered on the red N streaming platform on our side of the Atlantic, because it is possible that this change of ownership in the United States will affect its French broadcast.

Lately, AMC-branded series have tended to land on Paramount+ in France (as is the case with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live or Mayfair Witches which arrives on the platform in April). So to be continued.

Snowpiercer features Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs and Sean Bean aboard a constantly moving train that travels through a frozen world, rife with social injustice and torn by class warfare.

At the end of season 3, the passengers of the Snowpiercer were divided into two groups, with some choosing to stay on the train and the others deciding to explore New Eden. It remains to be seen what awaits them next.

A little more patience then, Snowpiercer will (finally) return in 2025.
