SNSM lifeguards swim around the island of Ré

Fourteen volunteers embark on this challenge which should last about thirty hours.

Next Saturday, at 8 a.m., fourteen volunteer lifeguards from the SNSM station on the Ile de Ré will jump into the water to swim around the island, in relay, i.e. between 36 and 40 miles ( 70 kilometers) depending on the currents. The president of the station, Denis Chatin, who will set an example by setting off first, without mask or snorkel, estimates the time spent at sea at around 30 hours. A great opportunity to talk about the SNSM and its volunteer heroes who regularly save lives.
