His family confirmed the young man’s death with an emotional farewell video released on his behalf. In the video, titled “So long nerds,” which was posted to his more than 12 million followers, his father called him “the greatest kid anyone could wish for.”

The American Internet star rose to fame by livestreaming and posting clips of herself playing the computer game Minecraft. Last year, Technoblade announced to its fans that it had been diagnosed with cancer.

The farewell message, said to have been written hours before his death and read by his father, began with the words: “Hello everyone, this is Technoblade. If you see this, I’m dead.”

He also revealed that his real name was actually Alex and recalled the time he fooled viewers into thinking his name was Dave. “Thank you all for supporting my content over the years,” he continued. “If I had a hundred more lives I would choose Technoblade again and again because those were the happiest years of my life.”

Rare tumor in the arm

The Internet star, whose online avatar was a picture of a crowned pig, had won many Minecraft tournaments and won countless fans with his humorous manner. In a fundraising video released in February, he explained that he had undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery to save limbs.

He first announced his cancer diagnosis in August 2021, saying he initially thought his pain was due to a repetitive strain injury from excessive gaming. After his arm became swollen, he went to a hospital and was diagnosed with cancer. He died of sarcoma, a rare bone and soft tissue cancer.

Since the news, comments from fans who mourn his death have been piling up on his YouTube channel. Another well-known Minecraft YouTuber named Philza took a video in memory of Technoblade.

His father thanked the fans in the farewell video and emphasized: “You meant a lot to him.” He explained that a portion of the proceeds from online orders for his late son’s fundraising items will now go to charity.

Minecraft allows players to move and take action in an imaginative virtual landscape, such as digging holes, collecting blocks and creating new elements. Recent updates to the game aim to help children explore and develop their professional skills and knowledge and find solutions to ‘real’ world problems such as flooding.
