Series creator Nic Pizzolatto has addressed fan dissatisfaction with season 4 of “True Detective,” written and directed by Issa López and starring Jodie Foster.
It’s shooting live ammunition behind the scenes of True Detective, whose season 4 led by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis makes it the most exciting series on air at the moment. The creator of True Detective: Night Country, Issa López, created a direct link with season 1 of the series, created by Nic Pizzolatto who piloted the first three seasons before being dismissed.
This connection with season 1 has sparked its share of comments and theories on the networks, but it’s not to everyone’s taste. Starting with Nic Pizzolatto who is apparently not a fan of the new direction of the series.
He recently responded to several comments in a derogatory manner, as seen in a post Reddit who captured his responses on Instagram – some of which have since been deleted. In particular a “so stupid” about the connection with season 1.

Not a good player
“I certainly didn’t participate in this story or anything else“, Pizzolatto wrote in response to a comment on Instagram that pointed out the connection to season 1. “You can’t blame me“.
Issa López responded to this dig from Nic Pizzolatto in an interview with Vulture. “I believe that every storyteller has a very specific, special and unique relationship with the stories they create, and whatever their reactions, they are entitled to have them. It’s his prerogative.”she said. “I wrote this series with a deep love for his work and for the people who loved it.”
Remember that Issa López is screenwriter, showrunner and director of six episodes of Night Country. By its own admission, season 4 is a “reinvention” and admits that she is “different” of the previous ones. “The idea is to sit around the fire and have fun, feel feelings and think. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome.”
