Social Distancing: Are you already keeping enough distance?

"Please keep your distance" – this request determines our everyday life. In the fight against the coronavirus and the spread of the potentially fatal disease Covid-19, we are all called to "social distancing".

The rules should be clear by now and we've all heard how we can help slow the pandemic. But many wonder: am I doing enough personally? What does my "pandemic footprint" look like?

Do I keep enough distance?

You can now find the answer to exactly this question: On the "Pandemic Footprint" website, you can now use a few simple questions to determine how large your contribution to the containment of the corona virus is. If you keep enough distance, you often stay at home, how many people you meet on average – such simple questions that ultimately promote clear insight.

There is a private, non-commercial project behind the website. The makers want to open our eyes and make it clear that we are all in demand now. On the side they demand: "Take the current information and rules seriously! We can only do this in the community!"

Still corona parties

Although there is no official curfew in Germany, all citizens are currently called on to spend as much as possible in their own four walls and to keep the greatest possible distance from their fellow human beings. Unfortunately, not all people still adhere to these rules.

There are still some uninformable people dating for corona parties or private gatherings in the park, by the lake or at home. The website "Pandemic Footprint" also makes clear how harmful such behavior is. At such meetings, the personal pandemic footprint skyrockets – and personal responsibility for others to contract the virus increases dramatically.

We recall the words of Chancellor Angela Merkel: "It is serious. Take it seriously!"
