Social Truck drivers on strike this Monday for better wages

The CGT, FO, CFTC and CGC unions called for a strike on Monday in the road transport branch. The 790,000 employees in the sector, often paid minimum wage or less, are called upon to mobilize to demand wage increases.

Twenty sites should be blocked from 3am. Others could be added during the day. “All regions will be affected but we don’t want to bother motorists”, warns in The Parisian Patrick Blaise, from the FGTE Route CFDT.

“It is a warning shot that we want to send to employers, but also to the government and to public opinion. We were considered essential employees during the Covid, but today we are the forgotten ones, and it cracks, “he adds to the Ile-de-France daily, announcing that “if this day of action is not enough, we will enter in the hard in October”.
