Société Générale: appointment of a chief data officer


(CercleFinance.com) – Société Générale announces the appointment of Christophe Tummers to the position of chief data officer, effective April 1. Reporting to Laura Mather, chief operating officer of the French banking group, he will be responsible for the global data office.

Christophe Tummers has almost 30 years of experience in the financial sector. He joined Société Générale after working at UBS, where he most recently held the positions of group chief data officer (CDO) then CDO for ESG.

He notably worked on the creation of the CDO function and set up the Swiss bank’s data management office. He led the remediation of the company’s data architecture, governance and quality.
