Solidity inventor explains the challenges of merging

The fact that the Ethereum ecosystem is where it is today is largely thanks to Christian Reitwiessner. He has been working for the Ethereum Foundation since 2014 and was instrumental in the development of the Ethereum programming language called Solidity. In his role as team leader and researcher, he has the technical perspective and knows smart contracts like no other.

Ethereum technology also for non-computer scientists

In the podcast, Christian therefore explains what the Solidity programming language is all about, in a way that is also understandable for non-computer scientists. Of course, the merge should not be missing as a topic. Why he is quite relaxed about the change and not worried about increased centralization through Proof of Stake is also discussed.

As one of the first blockchains, Ethereum’s limited scalability repeatedly proves fatal. Christian knows what solutions are available to increase transaction throughput and explains what to expect from Layer 2 solutions.
