(CercleFinance.com) – Solvay is completing its largest greenhouse gas emissions reduction project to date, by transforming Green River operations in the United States.
Thanks to the deployment of a new process and the gradual abandonment of coal, the plant should help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 4% across the group by 2025.
Solvay has inaugurated its regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO) process at its plant in Green River, Wyoming.
This innovative emissions control technology, the first of its kind in the trona mining industry, strengthens Solvay’s long-term competitiveness while contributing to the group-wide emissions reduction target.
‘It will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the Green River plant by up to 20% per year and achieve a 4% reduction in emissions at group level by 2025’ indicates the group .
