some shapes could age 10 years

The disease sometimes causes neurological effects. A study shows that these can in rare cases lead to premature cognitive decline.

By contracting Covid-19, many patients observe this astonishing and now known symptom: loss of taste and smell. Some even discovered the covid toe. However, a study shows that some cases could have more serious consequences.
As early as October 2020, the English newspaper The Guardian mentioned the cases of certain patients who several months after being infected reported problems with concentration, and a form of permanent mental fog. In people over 65, these forms of mental confusion could even be an early symptom of the disease, according to researchers at the University of Massachusetts. This is now on the list of symptoms on the Health Insurance list.

Until early aging

Researchers at Imperial College London analyzed the results of cognitive tests from Covid-19 patients. Tests originally developed to measure the progress of patients with Alzheimer's disease. And the results are alarming. The people studied who suffered from severe forms of the disease "score lower on cognitive tests in several areas than one would expect given their age." And not least: this drop in performance is the equivalent of a brain ten years older than the other participants. This serious damage would be linked to a disproportionate defense reaction of the body which would lead to overheating of the body which could reach the brain.
However, rest assured, these cases remain a minority of serious cases that have been hospitalized.
