something new causes panic, even if we saw it coming

The democracy of Helldivers 2 is in turmoil today, as the Minister of Truth learns of the shocking appearance of new enemies never before seen.

We must of course take the announcement with the same tenth degree as adopted by the studio behind Helldivers 2. Still, this enormously successful co-op game still continues to welcome new content, for the greatest pleasure players.

New enemies threaten Helldivers 2’s democracy

In an announcement that clearly does not lack humor, the Helldivers 2 account X (formerly Twitter) announces some shocking news. New Terminid enemies are sowing chaos and confusion within democracy. Flying insects never before seen (in fact, yes), now reign supreme in the skies. The insurmountable task of the Helldivers is thus terribly complicated.

Naturally, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen these new adversaries. These were introduced following a balancing patch. The developers of Helldivers 2, however, played a fool’s game with the community. A special event aimed at “containing the insects” was even set up to “refute these ridiculous allegations”. As we could have anticipated, this attempt to contain the threat visibly had the opposite effect.

The craze around the game knows no end

Thanks to these small additions and these interactions with its community, Helldivers 2 seems to be an unstoppable success. After a complicated first month due to overloaded servers and bugs, the game is now entering a cruising phase. It is therefore regularly stocked with new content, balancing patches and other goodies. Another highly anticipated element is on the way. The surprise was, however, broken down by very excited players who leaked this good news. Arrowhead’s transparency towards its players is also to be welcomed.

All of this put together allows the game to place itself among the greatest successes of the first quarter of 2024. A success such that the title has even surpassed the juggernaut FF7 Rebirth in terms of sales. A great success for which Super Earth obviously continues to congratulate itself.
