Songbird: Michael Bay implements thriller about the corona virus

When Michael Bay (55, "Armageddon") tackles a project, one can expect a bombastic result. Another director's and producer's work is already in the works. According to the "Deadline", Bay is planning a thriller about the corona virus and will soon start implementing it. Accordingly, the filming of "Songbird", as the film is called, will begin in Los Angeles in the next five weeks – and this in the middle of the lockdown.

The pandemic strip is officially approved, it is said. This would make "Songbird" not only the first film made in Los Angeles after the shutdown order, but also the first to deal with the corona virus and the global crisis. A number of precautions should allow the shoot. For example, the actors should be in separate rooms and always filmed separately. Unions like the Screen Actors Guild have apparently already agreed to this.

"Songbird" in the style of "Cloverfield"

The thriller produced by Bay is supposed to be reminiscent of works such as "Cloverfield" and "Paranormal Activity", which are characterized by first-person perspective and cell phone camera shots. In terms of content, the film, which is set two years in the future, will deal with the direct effects of the Corona crisis. When "Songbird" will be released in cinemas is as unclear as the question of the cast of the film.
