As you know, Sonic will be back this year in a remaster, and perhaps in a new game which would be free. On the other hand, its gameplay would be quite particular.
The Sonic franchise still has a bright future ahead of it. And no, we’re not necessarily talking about his legacy in cinema, with a third film just around the corner. In video games, the license will return this fall in the remaster of Generations. The icing on the cake is that it will add Shadow as a playable character with a dedicated single-player campaign. A great gift for fans, who are not yet at the end of their surprises. For good reason, there would also be another project in the works, and this time, we would be dealing with a free-to-play one.
A free Sonic game? Where do we sign?
This information comes to us directly from Insider Gaming, which says it has had access to videos of a game with the somewhat special blue hedgehog. The media would have had authorization to talk about it, on the sole condition of not revealing its sources or any image. Sonic Toys Party would therefore be planned for summer 2024, and it would adopt the same concept as a very famous title: Fall Guys. Yes yes, himself, which may seem rather surprising. However, given the success of the latter, it would not be a choice devoid of logic.
Besides, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this strange game. In January, a leaker named MbKKssTBhz5 mentioned the existence of a mobile spin-off. The particularity of this one being that it would adopt mechanics similar to those of Fall Guys. The clues are clearly starting to pile up, but be careful. Indeed, this remains to be taken with a grain of salt, because we have not had any official confirmation. That said, Insider Gaming still has additional details to provide, just to convince us.
The gameplay described by the media actually resembles that of the Mediatonic title. In servers of 32 players, it would be possible to compete in various events with many of the characters from the famous franchise. The following names are noted: Sonic, Tales, Shadow, Knuckles, Eggman, Amy and Metal. On the menu, obstacle courses or even fights against bosses, with only one survivor at the end. Gold rings would also be of primary importance, serving as in-game currency for cosmetics, among other things.
