Sonic is about to celebrate his 30th birthday… late. But SEGA knows how to be forgiven. Between the release of the retro compilation, the open-world game Sonic Frontiers and the success of the second film, gamers will be eating blue hedgehog morning, noon and night in 2022. Nevertheless, concern is growing over the release of the new title given its discretion in the media.
Delay for Sonic Frontiers?
If we are to believe our colleagues from Nintendo Life, Sonic Frontiers will be released in 2022 on consoles and PC. Where do they get this information from? From an official stream in which Katie Chrzanowski, social media manager for SEGA America, intervened. Here is what she said about it:
I see a lot of people asking about Sonic Frontiers. And while we don’t have any new information to share today, we will soon, don’t worry. It’s still slated to come out at the end of the year, so we’ll have some news for you within the year, don’t worry..
In other words: don’t worry! SEGA manages its business and should not push back the title a second time. Indeed, following negative feedback after internal tests, the publisher had played it safe by postponing the release to 2022.
What we know about the game
Sonic Frontiers will shake up the codes of the franchise by introducing an open world, or at least open areas. The blue hedgehog will be able to wear out the soles of his two-tone shoes while scanning every square meter of the Starfall Islands.
Players will be able to explore rich and varied landscapes while enjoying Sonic’s abilities and super speed.

For its transformation, the mascot sees things big with the presence of dubbing entirely in French. Well, we just hope that the editor will not have the bad idea to call Malik Bentalha (Sonic the movie) to take over the role.
