Sonic Origins gives an update on its game modes and new features

Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD. These four titles with remastered graphics will be playable in either Anniversary mode or Classic mode. The first displays games in full-screen 16/9 format (a first in the case of Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and don’t bother counting the lives that are unlimited. The second uses the 4/3 image format of yesteryear and complies with the law of game over.

The compilation also includes a story mode that combines all 4 games into one big adventure, with new opening and closing cutscenes to connect each of the games (which fans of sonic cd reassure themselves, the game also retains its two memorable cinematics).

We will pass more quickly on the Boss Rush and Mirror modes which do not need any presentation, but note that the replayability will also be ensured by the Mission mode, which imposes objectives on the players in order to obtain the best possible rank.

Note also the presence of a new virtual currency to be collected in the Birthday and Mission modes, currency that can then be spent to unlock content in the game museum or to try your luck in the ruthless bonus levels.
