Sonic The Hedgehog, Quietly, Transformers, Ninja Turtles… A slew of announcements for Paramount+

The American studio gives priority to franchises, available both in theaters and on the SVoD platform
Paramount+.

The Paramount studio has big ambitions for the next few years on the streaming front. It has thus given visibility on the next productions that will fill its catalog and on its next releases in cinemas, in addition to the announcement of a fourth opus of the new saga. star trek

Franchise transformers seemed dormant for a few years, but no question for the studio to abandon its robots which have brought in several billion dollars. We already knew that Paramount was preparing a new opus entitled Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which will be released in the summer of 2023. The major sees further with a trilogy already in development.

At the same time Paramount is developing an animated film transformers which should land on cinema screens by 2024. An animated series produced for the Nickelodeon children’s channel, called Transformers: Earthsparkwill also launch this fall, and the studio has unveiled the very first images on its social media.

Still more franchises available for SVoD

Sonic 2 the movie
won’t hit theaters until March 30, but then again Paramount already has several projects in the works around SEGA’s blue hedgehog. A third opus is already planned on a date not yet communicated. In parallel Paramount + will host a spin-off series centered on the character of Knuckles, still played by Idris Elba.

The horror saga Without a sound will also return for a third opus which will be released in theaters in 2025. Before that, we will be able to discover a spin-off directed by Michael Sarnoski whose release is still set for 2023.

On the animation front, Paramount will rejuvenate Ninja Turtles, after two live-action remakes produced by Michael Bay. In 2023, an animated film will be released in theaters and will be produced by comedian Seth Rogen. Streaming is not forgotten, with the announcement of several films centered on different characters from the universe of the Turtles to come on Paramount+.

This strategy will finally be applied to Spongebobwith the release on the streaming platform of several derivative films, but also the production of a larger budget film designed for the cinema.
