“The Traitors” starts in September on RTL

The start date of Sonja Zietlow’s (55) new show is set. “The Traitors – Trust Nobody!” starts on September 20, 2023 on RTL. A new episode of the “Reality Crime Show” (RTL) then runs every Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. The first two episodes can be seen on the in-house streaming service RTL+ from September 13th. This was announced by the Cologne broadcaster in a press release.

16 celebrities gather for “The Traitors – Trust No One!” in a castle in France. In it they fight for a treasure worth 50,000 euros. But among the stars there are three traitors. RTL has not yet announced the celebrities.

The werewolves from RTL

The gameplay of “The Traitors” is suspiciously reminiscent of the popular party game Werewolves (also known as Mafia). Sonja Zietlow taps three celebrities sitting blindfolded. The chosen ones are now the bad guys. You must try to eliminate the good guys, who are called the “loyal ones” on the show.

The loyal ones must in turn try to unmask the traitors. If one or more traitors make it to the final, they automatically win the treasure. Otherwise, the loyalists share the profit among themselves.

The highlight: unlike the candidates, the viewer knows who the traitors are. However, one that is not very meaningful teasers for the show RTL has already published.

“The Traitors – Trust Nobody!” based on the Dutch format “De Verraders”. The show launched in the neighboring country in 2021 and was quickly exported to 25 countries. In addition to Germany, the show is also running in Great Britain and the USA.
