At the end of last year, we learned that the American manufacturer Sonos was planning to launch four new product categories in 2023. One of them could be speakers with spatial audio, as reported The Verge.

In an article posted online this week, the American site claims that Sonos intends to launch two new generation connected speakers “ in the coming months » : the Sonos Era 300 and Sonos Era 100. The Verge has indeed discovered mentions of these two speakers on documents from Sanus, a company specializing in mounts and accessories for speakers. Thus, a wall mount would be offered by the props specialist at a price of 80 dollars and a stand would be displayed at 220 dollars.

Two Dolby Atmos compatible speakers

In detail on the two speakers, the Sonos Era 300 should be the most high-end model, with omnidirectional sound, that is to say sent in all directions. It would thus be compatible with spatial audio, just like Apple’s HomePod 2. The connected speaker would also benefit from a USB-C socket to transmit wired audio files, but also Wi-Fi 6E. Bluetooth could also be there to play audio files easily from a smartphone or PC.

Regarding the Sonos Ear 100, the American site indicates that it would logically be a question of a more accessible speaker, succeeding the Sonos One, to which certain functions would thus be missing. The speaker could, however, take advantage of spatial audio with support for the Dolby Atmos format thanks to a speaker directed upwards.

We will still have to wait to learn more about the new Sonos. The period of “next months» approached byThe Vergeis wide enough for the announcement to be made in the next few days or before the summer. Still, while Apple has just launched its new speaker connected to spatialized sound, Sonos must now react if it does not want to be left behind.
