With its new range of Bravia 7, 8 and 9 TVs, Sony is aimed at all cinema enthusiasts, promising the most compelling experience in OLED and Mini LED. And the good news is that these are not just empty words.

Sony is not only a consumer electronics brand known for its Bravia televisions, it is also one of the largest film studios in the world that develops its own professional equipment, from camera lenses to production monitors . This unique expertise is reflected in its products with the ambition of reproducing the immersive cinema experience at home.

The new Bravia 7 and Bravia 9 televisions, equipped with Mini LED technology, and the Bravia 8 in OLED, are making progress towards achieving this goal. The brightness is higher, the contrasts striking, the colors faithful and the sound enveloping. Everything is done to find the intentions of the filmmakers at home. But Sony doesn’t stop there. To accompany its televisions, the brand offers its new audio range, BRAVIA Theater, composed of two soundbars, a home cinema system and a neck speaker.

When the cinema comes to the home

The Bravia 2024 range was built around a strong desire, that of rediscovering the very special emotion of cinemas. This quest for authenticity sets Sony apart from certain manufacturers who, lacking the required expertise in image processing, focus solely on the hardware. This is how we sometimes observe blatant inconsistencies between the director’s vision in the cinema and the rendering on a television.

To avoid this situation, the Bravia 7, 8 and 9 integrate a scene recognition system. The latter detects and analyzes film metadata, then optimizes the image to provide perfect realism. Each TV also has the new mode Calibration Studio which adapts the image to find the quality desired by the creators. This mode is in addition to the systems already available for streaming platforms, such as Netflix Adaptive Calibrated, Sony Pictures Core And Prime Video Calibrated Mode.

The protocols DTS:X, Dolby Vision And Dolby Atmos are all supported. This means increased brightness, enhanced contrast, richer colors and dynamic audio that puts the viewer at the heart of the action.

And that’s not all, the new Bravia TVs and Bravia Theater audio products are also certified IMAX Enhanced. Although it is not possible to reproduce the IMAX format exactly on a television, everything is done to preserve the director’s vision and be captivated. Incidentally, the Bravia 9 becomes the world’s first television with a vertical tweeter and two frame tweeters on the edges to create an effective surround effect.

As you will have understood, Sony is aimed at all cinema enthusiasts who are looking for the best possible image. Moreover, the brand offers ten films on its platform Sony Pictures Coreas well as one month to Molotov Grand Cinema. The user thus has, from the moment of installation, quality content to discover the exceptional capabilities of their equipment.

Bravia 9: Sony’s brightest 4K TV

The Bravia 9 inherits the latest Mini LED backlighting technologies developed by Sony for its professional monitors. This translates into unrivaled precision, with three times more local dimming zones than its predecessor, the X95L. Brightness follows the same trajectory, with a 50% increase over previous models, making the Bravia 9 the brightest 4K TV the brand has ever created.

As for the contrast, it is based on thousands of LEDs and a unique algorithm, the XR Backlight Master Drive, to deliver deep blacks. Add to that, technology XR Triluminos Pro, capable of reproducing more than a billion shades, and you are guaranteed to take a huge visual hit. Actually, that’s not all! The Bravia 9 is also equipped with technology X-Anti Reflectiondesigned to reduce reflections on the screen, and a panel X-Wide Angle which improves viewing angles.

Another extremely convincing new Mini LED, the Bravia 7. The latter succeeds the X90L which was only a simple Full LED Array television. With the number of backlight zones increased eight-fold, this is a giant step forward in terms of visual quality. But since immersion also depends on the size of the screen, the Bravia 7 is offered with generous dimensions: 164 cm (65 inches), 189 cm (75 inches) and 215 cm (85 inches).

Bravia 8: a new generation OLED

Sony continues to focus on OLED technology with its new television, Bravia 8. This model succeeds the excellent A80L, while benefiting from certain advances from the flagship model of the range, the A95L. The brightness increases, as does the contrast. It also receives technologies such as XR Clear Image which improves content from sources lower than 4K. In another register, technology XR OLED motion inserts additional frames between the original frames for smoother scenes.

An interface connected under Google TV is integrated, giving access to intelligent assistants from Google and Amazon. The TV is also compatible AirPlay 2, Chromecast And Apple Home, the objective being to benefit from all of its contents without constraint. Sony also took the opportunity to upgrade the remote control, now made of 80% recycled plastic and a rechargeable battery via USB-C cable.

Bravia Theater: immersive cinema sound

The Theater Bar 8 and Bar 9 soundbars are packed with technology, all aimed at providing the most immersive experience possible. THE 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates virtual speakers to provide enveloping sound, while theAcoustic Center Sync synchronizes the bar’s speakers with those of the Sony television. The S systemsound Field Optimization adjusts the sound according to the room layout, and the Voice Zoom 3 uses artificial intelligence to amplify or reduce the volume of dialogue.

For those who want real home cinema sound, Sony has planned its new Bravia Theater Quad solution. There are four speakers with a minimalist design, each with four speakers positioned on the front, as well as in the high position. Finally, Sony completes its offering with the Bravia Theater U neckband which promises cinema sound, even on the go.

An offer not to be missed !

Until July 14, 2024, Sony is offering an introductory offer that is worth checking out: For any purchase of a TV or soundbar from the 2024 range, the brand will reimburse you up to €1,000. An ideal opportunity to acquire high-end devices while benefiting from a great discount.
