The five TV models in the Sony Bravia X80K series offer a cheaper alternative to the devices in the Bravia XR class. The Smart TVs can be ordered now – and have the following functions.
- The TV sets of the Sony Bravia X80K series can be ordered now.
- The Smart TVs are available in four sizes between 43 and 65 inches.
- In contrast to the XR line, devices in the X80K series are available for less than 1,000 euros.
The starting signal for the new entry-level TVs from Sony has been given: the Bravia X80K series is now available for pre-order – and combines a big name with relatively small price tags.
With the KD-43X80K, the smallest representative of the series (43 inches) is already available for around 900 euros, the large KD-65X80K (65 inches) is also comparatively cheap at around 1,350 euros. If the screen diagonal is to be even larger, there is the KD-75X81K with 75 inches in the sister class for just under 2,000 euros.

Even if the X80R series certainly does not fall into the high-end spectrum, all entry-level models come with 4K UHD quality, rich HDR contrast, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. In addition to a smart user interface for apps such as Netflix, classic TV reception is also possible via triple tuners (satellite, antenna and cable).
Sony Bravia X80R: Significantly thicker than OLED models
The LCD screens of the X80K models are rather deep compared to the ultra-slim OLED displays of the XR range and tend to appear a bit chunky. So if you’re looking for a TV that’s significantly thinner than a Sunday newspaper, Sony Bravia’s budget models won’t be for you.
However, the Sony Bravia X80K TVs are definitely worth a look if you want to buy your 4K TV from a well-known manufacturer and still not want to dig too deep into your pocket.
Incidentally, the new models are also compatible with the soon to be released Sony Bravia Cam.
