Sony is developing a portable console under the codename Q Lite

A little thunderclap on the Internet this morning. According to the Insider Gaming site and one of its generally well-informed members, Sony would return to the portable console market with a future model that we know, for the moment, under the name Q Lite.

If the technical characteristics are still very vague, we are talking about game streaming, with a definition of 1080p and 60 fps on an 8-inch screen. According to Insider Gaming again, the first prototypes of the console would look like a PS5 controller with the famous screen (LCD and touch screen by the way) in its center. Also according to the rumor, the adaptive triggers as well as the expensive haptic feedback to the DualSense controller would still be in the game.

Obviously, we don’t know much more at the moment and we must therefore rely on information from Tom Henderson. According to him, the Q Lite is not a console designed for cloud gaming, although it will have to be connected to the Internet. Indeed, the Q Lite would be a way to best exploit the function of remote play (remote play) of the PS5, which PlayStation has also highlighted recently.

For the moment, no date has really leaked, even if a current release in 2024 seems most likely. The price of the beast, on the other hand, remains shrouded in mystery.
