Sony has announced a live stream for this Wednesday. Will the publisher announce a new console there, the PS5 Pro? We reveal how likely this is.
Sony has announced a 40-minute live stream for January 31st. The latest edition of “State of Play” will be shown at 11 p.m. German time.
Many fans are hoping that the Japanese publisher will launch a more powerful PlayStation, a PS5 Pro, in the next few months. Some people are probably wondering whether Sony might be introducing such a console today.
However, this is unlikely. Just a few weeks ago, Sony released the new slim models of the PS5. A PS5 Pro announcement would probably be a bit too early.
Sony also writes in the PlayStation Blog that it wants to reveal news about more than 15 games, such as Stellar Blade and Rise of The Ronin. Games for PSVR 2 will also be shown.
So it’s pretty clear that this edition of State of Play is aimed at new games and not new hardware. However, it is of course possible that Sony will release a short teaser for new hardware in the last few seconds. There may be a small chance after all, so it’s best to follow the stream all the way to the end.
