As part of its new ULT range, Sony has introduced its new ULT Wear headphones, designed for fans of big bass.
In parallel with its new Bluetooth speakers and for the launch of its ULT range, Sony also lifted the veil this Thursday on a new noise reduction Bluetooth headset, the Sony ULT Wear.
As its name does not indicate, this helmet takes over from the old helmets stamped XB for “Extra Bass» and in particular the Sony MDR-XB910N.
To do this, the new Sony ULT Wear headphones benefit from a rather solid technical sheet, largely inspired by the WH-1000XM5 released almost two years ago. We find the same V1 processor responsible for managing active noise reduction, multipoint Bluetooth support to connect it to two devices simultaneously and management of the LDAC Bluetooth audio codec in addition to the traditional AAC and SBC.
A headset designed for big bass
For the acoustic aspect, the Sony ULT Wear has two 40 mm diameter transducers, therefore wider than those fitted to the WH-1000XM5. It must be said that the headphones are geared towards bass and hip-hop enthusiasts and that a larger transducer generally allows you to go further into the low frequencies. In addition to the buttons, the port sensor and the touch swipe controls, there is also a “ULT» specific to this range, which allows you to switch to a “Deep Bass», for a little more bass, or “Attack Bass», for really deeper bass.

Concerning autonomy, Sony announces that its headset can reach 30 hours of use by activating active noise reduction and up to 50 hours in standard mode. Obviously, the headset can also be used without battery, in wired mode, simply by connecting a jack cable.
The Sony ULT Wear headset is available today for 200 euros. It is available in three colors, black, green or white.
