While the manufacturer’s two OLED series occupy the top of the catalog, Sony does not forget to offer a wide range of televisions LCD for 2023.

Once is not custom, Sony skipped the CES to present its new televisions. The manufacturer preferred to organize a more intimate press conference, with presentation of the products, a few days ago. Apart from the OLED televisions already presented in a previous article, two models join the Bravia XR range with the X95L and X90L. Three other LED ranges complete the catalog.

Even more efficient Mini-LED and FALD?

After launching into the Mini-LED segment last year with an overall very successful X95K, Sony is continuing with its successor: the X95L. Available in 65, 75 and 85 inch diagonals, the manufacturer’s high-end LED TV promises even better controlled backlighting thanks to XR Backlight Master Drive technology. Naturally, the objective here is to approach the most qualitative image possible, in particular in terms of contrast and brightness. Sony mentions a greater number of local dimming zones than last year, leading to a blooming that should be even more discreet. Color and sharpness would also be two points on which improvements can be seen.

Integrating the Bravia XR range, the X95K benefits from the latest optimizations of the Cognitive Processor XR. The latter notably incorporates a new function with XR Clear Image technology to reduce noise and motion blur, so it promises to be ideal for watching sports, or even for broadcasting content scaled by the upscaling engine.

Next to that, Sony continues to bet on Full Array LED TVs with the X90L. The latter is also part of the Bravia XR range, so it benefits from all the improvements that come with the Cognitive Processor XR. Sony once again mentions better backlight control, with a light peak that would be up 130% compared to the previous model, the X90K. Finally, the X90L will be available in five diagonals: 55, 65, 75, 85 and finally 98 inches.

These two Bravia XR series will finally have all the features we have already mentioned in our article on the OLED A95L and A80L.

More accessible family LED TVs

The Japanese manufacturer has not omitted to expand its offer with more accessible televisions, more suitable for family use. These Bravia televisions thus embed the X1 processor and are available in different series.

The X85L has the advantage of offering Full Array LED backlighting with three diagonals of 75, 65 and 55 inches. The X80L and X75WL are content with Edge-LED type backlighting and will be respectively available with diagonals of 55, 65 and 75 inches for the first, and 43, 50, 55, 65, and 75 inches for the second.

Price and availability

The X80L range should be available during the month of March. However, you will have to be patient for the other references. The OLED A80L is said to arrive in April, while the X95L, X90L and X85L will launch in May. Finally, the least expensive series (X75WL) will be available in June.

For now, Sony has not mentioned any selling price for its different ranges. We should know more in the coming weeks.
