Sony made PS5 announcements yesterday. Not just games, but also hardware. On the program: Project Q, a portable console and headphones with a charging station that looks like a PS5.

The box is really successful

Yes, you read that right, the charging case is the miniature counterpart of the PlayStation 5 console. And to add a touch of finesse to this remarkable imitation, Sony has integrated an LED strip to inform us of the state of charge of the listeners.

Now let’s talk about the headphones themselves. Technically, they are equipped with a “new wireless technology developed by Sony”. This technology promises lossless, low-latency audio transmission from a PlayStation 5. Well, Sony didn’t give us any details on the sound quality or the standard on which this technology is based.

We also don’t know if a USB dongle will be included for use with a PC, but Sony assures us that the headphones will be compatible with computers. And, for smartphones too, given that these PlayStation headphones support Bluetooth. Another handy detail: there are two volume buttons on the top of both earbuds, so users don’t have to deal with touch-sensitive surfaces in the heat of the moment. A small bulge on the plus button can also be used to blindly tell them apart.

And when can we get our hands on these new headphones? Patience, Sony promises us that all this will happen in the “months to come”. As for the price, well, we don’t have one at the moment.
