Soon a National Day "of daring gestures"?

The women of the association "Elles! Les audacieuses" wish to put generosity and solidarity in the spotlight by creating a National Day "daring gestures" to ensure a more serene and sustainable future.

The network, now an association, "They! The daring " was founded less than a year ago by Nicoise Virginie Atlan. The latter wishes "free women's voices " and "give citizens more visibility and weight in public debates". The 600 members are committed women who want to contribute to a more peaceful future by "the action". Virginie Atlan is committed to highlighting generosity and solidarity. For this, she proposes that March 17, World Social Work Day, also become National Day next year "bold gestures".

"The observation is as follows: in recent years, we have experienced tragic moments, such as the attacks. Each time, there was a lot of compassion. For the police, yesterday, the health personnel today hui, but often, shortly after, we find that they spit in their mouths anyway … So, I told myself that it was not normal that, for a day, each year, we cannot remember that, without all these people, we would not be protected, that we could not simply live", explains the president and founder of the association to Nice morning.

Indeed, in this health crisis, the people on the front line, especially the nursing staff, are abused or even brutalized. Recently, two sisters, one a firefighter and the other nursing assistant, discovered a word from their neighbors asking them to stay elsewhere to avoid contaminating them. The two young women are unfortunately one example among many.

Fortunately, good initiatives are also emerging from this health crisis due to the spread of the new coronavirus. "Spontaneously, there are things that fall into place in terms of solidarity. But it is not that natural.", says Virginie Atlan, who would like these solidarity gestures to become more and more spontaneous. "Being generous, giving your time for others, being open to the world, that should be a reflex. A way of being, which lasts over time. And that is precisely what we want to encourage. And not only in difficult times, like the ones we are going through today ", she adds.

The founder of "They! The daring"hopes that the good sides of containment, including its benefits for the planet, will raise awareness. the time has come to think about a peaceful and sustainable future.

Virginie Atlan is delighted that several celebrities, notably Luana Belmondo, Danièle Évenou, producer Alexandra Fechner and even host Cécile de Ménibus, have joined her association in order to support and publicize her project. These stars are sure to share their "bold gestures". Virginie Atlan recalls that every little effort counts whether it is to avoid waste or to prefer the bicycle to the car for its daily journeys. To inspire the French, the association will post via Instagram "testimonies of 'daring gestures' https://www.aufeminin.com/" of all citizens as committed as they are daring.
