The players ofHelldiverse 2 have accomplished what feels like their biggest feat yet: defeating the enemy Autoton faction. Really for good?
In Helldiverse 2, two opposing factions oppose humanity: insects (terrminids) and robots (automatons). Today there is only one left. Indeed, one of them has obviously been eradicated for good. In a tweet published on April 7the official account of the game announces: “ You did it, Helldivers. Operation Swift Disassembly was a success! With the robots exterminated and the insects contained, the galaxy is free once again. »
This positive outcome is not a surprise. It follows a major order given in Helldiverse 2, after a big update. The mission was simple: destroy all the robots, which in recent days have been able to count on new machines to defend themselves (notably a land vessel reminiscent of an AT-AT from Star Wars).
With this success, the automatons are no longer supposed to reappear in the game, at least in the short term – although it is still hard to believe it.

“ Following the extermination of the automatons and the containment of the terminids, a new prosperous future awaits our citizens “, we can discover in the game. The current objective simply consists of liberating three planets, by fighting terminids (one of them has already been cleaned, at the time of writing these lines).
Reading this, one might believe thatHelldiverse 2 is over, since both threats have been contained by collective effort. It would be surprising since the game-service is celebrating its two-month anniversary and is still very popular (the average number of players connected simultaneously is around 200,000, according to Steamcharts). We also remind you that it is now possible to go to level 150, compared to 50 previously. Without an opponent to fight, this level will be difficult to reach.
It is believed that this lull will inevitably be followed by a major invasion, which will once again mobilize the community. We recall thatHelldiverse 2 revolves around a global conflict, led by a single man. The latter has complete freedom to activate levers likely to cause problems for fans. With this in mind, a huge response from the automatons cannot be ruled out.
Another hypothesis, undoubtedly more plausible if we consider that the robots will never return: the arrival of a new faction. It would actually not be so new for those who played the very first Helldiverse. There we fought robots and insects, but also technologically advanced extraterrestrials: the enlightened ones. They are an ancient civilization and are equipped with very powerful weapons. In short, humanity would do well not to declare victory too quickly.
