Soon finished, the search by keywords? These first screens of Bing with ChatGPT bear witness to this

The ChatGPT function for Bing is said to have briefly appeared on the computer of various users in recent days.

Microsoft has been on edge since the worldwide success of ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, a company of which it is a partner. The firm founded by Bill Gates quickly announced that it wanted to associate this AI with its Bing search engine. And it seems that the first results are already available.

The chatbot appears mysteriously

Did Microsoft want to try a teaser of the conference it will hold tonight at 7 p.m. (Paris time)? Or is it an error (we would be surprised!)? Still, last week, several people saw the new version integrating ChatGPT appear on the Bing homepage.

This is the case of a young design student, Owen Yin, who shared his experience on Twitter. We can thus observe that in the new Bing boosted with AI, the search bar has been transformed into a query field for ChatGPT. Once the request has been made, the user is transported to the usual page of links offered in response, with however the addition of a “chat” tab.

A GPT-4 release?

From there, it is possible to access the famous chatbot, which has also benefited from notable improvements. Indeed, unlike the initial version presented to the public at the end of last year, this “chat” function is able to source all of its comments using links. It also has access to the most recent information, as ChatGPT stops in 2021.

This could have something to do with the integration of the GPT-4 language model, first expected for next spring, but whose The Information recently announced the arrival within a few days. In any case, the machine seems improved. As a little icing on the cake, the screenshots show a chatbot which interacts a lot more and asks its user questions itself after having provided its answers. Will Google’s Bard be a competitor at its height?
